The IRS apologizes

Did you get a notice from the IRS saying that you owed taxes and only had until the end of June to pay? Well they goofed. As you know you, if live in California or work with our firm, we are allowed to file and pay taxes all the way up to October 16 due to the Disaster relief provisions. All of that rain in January meant that both the IRS and the FTB pushed off the deadlines.

But apparently the IRS forgot to tell their computers that. In a Tweet the IRS actually apologized for the confusion:

Bottom line, if you got a letter indicating you only had until the end of June to pay your taxes when we told you that you had until October, we were right, they were wrong.
