Karen M. Bradley, CPA
Karen joins the firm with over 14 years of extensive government compliance c0mpetency and 21+ years of audit, consulting and financial control expertise in public accounting. Her public accounting experience included being an Audit Partner with one of the oldest and largest public accounting firms in Central California. She specialized in the preparation of financial statements and the performance of financial and compliance audits for 100+ clients of all sizes and industries. More recently, she was actively involved and influential in streamlining business processes for the City of Fresno in her role as Assistant Controller/Interim Controller. She was dynamically involved in guiding the City of Fresno, the fifth largest City in California, out of near bankruptcy. Through a proactive approach consisting of analysis of financial operations and the implementation of effective systems, Karen facilitated the establishment of strategies and processes to improve organizational efficiencies, cutting costs and improving or maintaining services with fewer resources.
Throughout her career, Karen has used her extensive research, analysis and development skills to address complex issues, finding effective solutions, all the while focusing on high standards of client/customer quality service. Karen’s public accounting engagements included specialties in the construction industry, automotive sales and health care industries as well as numerous non-profits. Her government experience included all aspects of City financial matters including oversight of financial and regulatory compliance audits and reporting, grant management, treasury and debt functions as well as working with both internal and external legal counsel.
Born in Washington DC, Karen calls Fresno home and graduated Magna Cum Laude, Bachelor of Science from California State University, Fresno with an emphasis in Business Administration/Accounting. She holds a California Certified Public Accountant certificate and is a member of the Government Finance Officers Association, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.
When not focusing on accounting, Karen loves to blend her joy of gardening with her passion for travel to historic parks, gardens and designed landscapes around the world. She particularly delights in those promoting high standards of conservation and restoration and sharing those adventures with family and friends.
Karen is excited to join the firm and bring her expertise to the firm’s litigation specialty as well as working with clients to help them understand and cut through governmental red tape.
